Cheat mode:

Endurance mode:
Highlight the "Start Game" option on the main menu. Hold A +

to choose a random character for the current box. Hold Up and press
Start to for all random characters.
Fight as Smoke:
Press A, B(2), A, Down, A, B(2),
A, Down, Up(2) after the bell rings at the Mortal Kombat 3
logo.
Fight against Smoke:
Press A(2), C(3) on controllers one and two at the
versus mode screen. The winner of the first round will fight Smoke.
Random fighter:
Hold Up and press Start at the character selection
screen.
Secret stage:
Defeat Shao Kahn to display a message stating that you are the new
MK3 champion. Press Start on the controller that was not used to defeat
Shao Kahn. The two player selection screen will appear with "-" displayed as the
next level. Continue game play to fight on the screen that states you are the
next champion. Note: Using an uppercut during this match will result in the
fight ending with no winners. Defeat your opponent without using any uppercuts
to fight Shao Kahn again.
Always defeated with fatality or brutality:
Lose a single player match and hold Down on controllers one
and two. Your opponent will end the match with a fatality or brutality.
More bonus game lives:
Note: A six-button controller is required for this code. Hold X
+ A + B + C + Z + Y at the "Galaxy" screen.
Unlimited lives and continues:
Note: This trick requires two controllers. Start a one player game
and if you lose, press Start on controller two to start a two player
game. Easily defeat your opponent and continue your game. Since your first one
player match did not end when player two joined, the CPU will not recognize that
you have lost.
Advance through matches:
Begin game play in single player mode. Press Start on
controller two and defeat your opponent to easily advance through the match.
Kombat Kodes:
Select a two player game and enter the Vs. screen. Use the controller
one buttons to select the first three characters of the Kode, and those same
buttons on controller two for the last three characters. Enter a valid Kode
before the Vs. screen fades. Pressing a button will cycle the specific character

Get the Ultimate Kombat Kode screen to come up by rotating the joystick
clockwise as soon as the "Prepare for Kombat" screen goes away. Now you can
enter Smoke's UKK, which is 010

Alternatively, access the cheats menu (see above), and turn Smoke ON.
Cheats menu: After
you've turned on the system, let it go past the "Prepare for Kombat" screen,
then do not enter
the Smoke UKK. Let the game go into attract mode. While in attract mode, hit Triangle,

Note: If your opponent is up against a wall after Kabal's head flies off, and you try to do the upper cut, Kano will upper cut, but it will miss the opponent. If you do nothing after that and wait until the "Kabal Wins" screen, the game will think you did a fatality. Kabal will be standing there with his head off on the ground, your opponent still wobbling, and Kano standing in his "Kano Wins" screen stance after he wins a match with his arms curved like he is flexing.
Also, on any pit stage push your opponent all the way to the left or
right of the screen so that you cannot move any farther. Now finish your
opponent with a High Punch and allow the game to get to the "Finish
Him!" screen. Hold High Punch and make Kabal's head fly off like
normal by doing his Animality without a Mercy. Immediately after that, press
Low Punch, Block, Block, High Kick. Kano should
appear and upper-cut the opponent into the pit.
Hint: Continuous lightning strike by Rain:
Select Rain and execute a lightning strike during a match. When
your opponent starts his or her way down, repeat the lightning strick. You
should perform it again just as your opponent is a quarter of the way down
the screen from the top.
Hint: Defeating CPU opponents:
As Cyrax, shoot a net (Back, Back, C) and do
an uppercut. Go up to him/her and press A repeatedly until he/she is
defeated. As Sektor, keep shooting missiles (Forward, Forward,
A). If your opponent ducks, press Forward, Forward,
C. As Smoke, use his spear, then use uppercuts.
Hint: Using the one button fatality code:
After activating the 944-944 Kombat code, pick a
thing and press Down(2), B (one a six-button controller) at
the "Finish Him!" screen while close to your opponent. On a three-button
controller, hold Start and press A, B, or C.
Hint: Sub-Zero: Hidden head-rip fatality:
Enable the "Cheat menu" code. Go to "Killer Kodes" and enable
"Fatalities-1". Choose Sub-Zero as your character. This fatality is very
similar to the one on Mortal Kombat 4. where he rips the opponent's
head off. In this game, before he rips off their head, the screen fades to
black. Defeat your opponent in two rounds. When Shao Khan says "Finish
Him/Her", stand close to your opponent and press High Punch.
Glitch: Stage skip:
The stage skip trick can be used during the Shao Kahn match. Your
square will move past the top of the match pole and you then fight endless
battles against mainly Kano, Sonya, or someone else on occasion. The stage
skip can continue to be used to make this go faster but eventually if you
reach any E box, the game will display an error screen including something
like this:

Glitch: Guard only:
Have both players take Noob Saibot on Scorpion's Lair background
with the timer disabled. Use the 044-440 Kombat Kode for no power.
Each player should throw a skull (Down, Forward, Low Punch)
one at a time so the other player always guards it. Shao Kahn will be heard
laughing each time. Repeat this until the skulls are stuck in front of the
players. All you can do now is guard.

Chameleon:
Like the SNES port, Chameleon was planned for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, but remains unfinished. Other than having his own life bar / win text, he's identical to the SNES version. To access him, use the Pro Action Replay code FF0127:19. In certain actions (such as performing one of the one-button finishers), he turns into Rain, and his Battle Plan portrait is Kano's. Chameleon also has no combos other than some simple two-hit jump-ins.

Use the PAR Code FF021F:XX to see these screens in the demo mode. XX
is the character ID.
Smoke's bio hasn't been changed from Mortal Kombat 3. Human Smoke and
Classic Sub-Zero's bios are just placeholders, and Chameleon's bio is
glitched (he doesn't have a bio name like the other characters).
Glitchality:
Animalities were removed from the Genesis port of Ultimate MK3. However,
whoever was responsible for removing them was probably easily distracted,
because they accidentally left in Kabal's Animality's input command. If you
try and perform an Animality with Kabal, he loses his head and some very
strange things can happen.
Unused Text:
Along with some new text, most of the unused text from the previous Genesis
port is still present, still unused.

the ROM. Sheeva was cut from this port; this text is a leftover from Mortal
Kombat 3.
Chameleon
Like Sheeva, Chameleon's health bar name and win text can be found in the
ROM (0x5258C and 0x5510E).
Endurance Mode
The Endurance Mode from MK3 was removed, but inside the ROM you can still
find the words "Endurance Mode" twice (at 0x525A8 and 0x65774).

Noob saibot:
Through cheat codes it's possible to control Noob Saibot. He seems to be
half complete in this game: he can be controlled by the player without the
game crashing (unlike in Mortal Kombat 3) and even has his own combos!
However, he doesn't have his own special moves, fatalities, or ending text
(he uses Human Smoke's). While controlling Noob Saibot, all fights will be
set in Noob's Dorfen.
Noob Saibot is playable in the Wave Net version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3,
as well as the various home versions of the game.

Which are the BEST MK ports according to Grabisoft?
Ok so obviously, the best way to play MK 1 to MK 4 is going to be emulating
the real thing, in other words, using MAME is going to be the most accurate
and perfect experience.
But in this section i will mention the best ports, other than MAME (which is
going to be considered the original versions) that one can find out there.
This is my opinion based on actual gameplay and research.
MK 1 = DOS / Sega CD*(long loading times and incorrect music with stages)
MK 2 = DOS / Sega 32x
MK 3 = DOS
UMK3= Genesis*(bad graphics)/ Saturn (good graphics, bad transparencies,
loading times, bugs)
MK T = DOS / Windows
MK 4 = N64
