Kitana and Liu Kang are the game's best distance fighters. Follow up a jump kick with a fan throw. Good against humans, excellent against the computer. In the corner, you can fan lift, then hop-kick, then throw a fan, and then uppercut, all without giving the enemy any opportunity to block! As you get faster, you can do a fan-lift, jump-punch, fan-throw, zip-punch combo (not in the corner) and even a five-hit combo in the corner. When playing against Kitana, if you are ducking and she does a fan lift (over your head), hold block, stand up, duck again, release block, then uppercut. You will not get hit by the fan lift!

The Basics
Pros: -Her fan lift will grant you total control of your opponent for a few seconds, use this to set them up for an uppercut.
-Like some other characters, her sister included, she can fire her projectiles in the air to help her aerial game.
-Kitana's flying punch will knock down whichever opponent decides to jump to high into the air for a jump kick, this a great attack to catch your enemies off-guard with.
-Kitana has a game-breaking combo in this game. Corner your opponent, use the fan lift attack, jump into the air with a regular kick, fall back down and *immeadiately* follow up for a forward jump kick, then a mid-air fan throw. Your enemy will be wondering what happened as they never got to touch the ground :). Yes, this works even on Kintaro and Shao Kahn.
Cons: -If executed at a bad time, her flying punch will leave her open to an attack from behind, as well as many projectile attacks, so be sure to use it wisely.
-While the fan lift is quite useful, it leavers her totally open for almost anything, though is will stop Rayden's Flying Thunder God, Liu Kang's Bicycle Kick, and Johnny's Shaodw Kick.
-Throwing the fan in mid-air can leave her open for an uppercut if the fan doesn't connect and your opponent hits the ground too early.

Kitana has the most devastating move in the entire game: the Fan Lift. If you trap an opponent in this, you can take off at least half of their energy. The trick is getting your opponent to jump into it, which takes some skill. The Aerial Punch is good for hitting jumping opponents and as part of combos. The Fan Throw comes out slowly while done on its on, but as part of a combo, it comes out lightning quick. The Fan Throw takes off average damage. Kitana is fast all around and good at close fighting, with her speedy jabs and kicks. Throw in the Fan Swipe, good for close fighting, and you have on the best fighters in the game.

Basic Combos
Jump Kick - Fan Throw
Jump kick the opponent low and quickly perform the fan throw. Start the two forward motion as you are kicking, and hit the two PUNCH buttons right after you kick the opponent.
Jump Kick - Fan Lift
Jump kick the opponent below the waist and perform the fan lift. Do the three back motion as you are kicking, and hit the HIGH PUNCH button right after you kick the opponent.
Fan Lift - Jump Kick - Fan Throw - Air Attack
After the fan lift, walk towards them a long as possible and jump kick into them. Immediately performt he fan throw when you kick. Start the two forward motion as you kick them. Then, quickly performt he air attack, or jump kick them again.
Fan Lift - Jump Kick - Fan Throw - Uppercut
Same as three, except when the opponent is falling down after the fan throw, you uppercut the opponent. This can only be done if the opponent is in the corner.
